Ash

Ash is a dark science fiction horror film that combines mystery, isolation, and survival. The story takes place on a distant planet, where a woman wakes up to discover that something terrible has happened to the people around her.

Riya finds herself alone on the planet and has no clear memory of what happened. The situation becomes even more frightening when she discovers the bodies of the other members of her crew. With no easy way to understand what caused their deaths, she has to search for answers while trying to stay alive.

Things become even more complicated when Brion arrives. He claims that he has come to help her, but Riya cannot be certain whether she can trust him. With her memory unreliable and the environment becoming increasingly dangerous, she has to question almost everything she sees.

One of the strongest parts of Ash is its atmosphere. The feeling of being completely isolated on another planet creates tension from the beginning. There is nowhere familiar to escape to, and every strange sound or unexplained event makes the situation feel more threatening.

The film also plays with the idea of memory. If you cannot trust your own mind, how can you be certain about what really happened? Riya's search for the truth becomes just as important as her fight for survival.

I think Ash works well because it does not reveal everything immediately. The mystery keeps building as the characters try to understand the situation, giving the audience plenty of reasons to keep guessing.

Overall, Ash is a creepy and atmospheric science fiction thriller about survival, trust, and discovering the truth when your own memories may be lying to you.

Sometimes, the most frightening place is one where you cannot even trust yourself.
