BFI has unveiled an exciting lineup of screenings and special events for London Climate Action Week 2026, bringing climate-focused cinema to audiences throughout June at BFI IMAX and BFI Southbank. The month-long programme explores climate change, wildlife conservation, and humanity’s relationship with nature through documentaries, classic films, family favourites, and expert-led discussions.
One of the biggest highlights is the European premiere of Force of Nature on 22 June at BFI IMAX. Narrated by Andrew Lincoln, the new ITV series explores how wildlife adapts to hurricanes, floods, droughts, and wildfires. Following the screening, audiences can attend a special Q&A with ITV executives and producers behind the groundbreaking project.
Film fans can also enjoy iconic classics with an environmental twist. Jurassic Park returns in 3D on 28 June, introduced by Craig Bennett from The Wildlife Trusts, while Jaws screens on 31 May with marine scientists from Zoological Society of London discussing sharks and ocean conservation.
The programme also highlights international cinema. Iracema: Uma Transa Amazônica examines the impact of Amazon development, while Noah’s Ark offers families a fun but timely story about climate change.
Additional screenings include Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Hoppers, and Super Nature, making the programme both educational and entertaining.
With climate conversations becoming increasingly urgent, BFI’s 2026 programme uses the power of film to inspire awareness, action, and meaningful discussion.
