The Front Room

The Front Room is a horror film that shows how something as normal as welcoming someone into your home can quickly become frightening. The film focuses on a young couple whose lives begin to change when an unexpected family member comes to stay with them. What should be a temporary arrangement soon becomes much more difficult than they imagined.

At first, the situation seems uncomfortable rather than terrifying. The couple have different ideas about how they want to live their lives, while their new guest has strong beliefs and a very different way of seeing the world. As the story continues, the tension inside the house grows, and it becomes clear that something is seriously wrong.

One of the most interesting things about The Front Room is the way it uses family relationships to create fear. Instead of relying only on frightening creatures or sudden scares, the film makes ordinary situations feel uncomfortable. A conversation, a meal, or simply being in the same room can suddenly feel threatening.

The film also explores themes such as control, religion, family expectations, and motherhood. These ideas give the horror more meaning because the characters are not only fighting against something frightening. They are also struggling to protect their home and their own identity.

I think The Front Room works because it makes you wonder what you would do if someone you could not trust became part of your everyday life. It is a reminder that sometimes the most frightening place is not a dark forest or an abandoned building. It can be your own home.
